India is one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world and the six-largest overall. Strong demographics, an aspirational middle-class and a reform-driven government give India the edge over its emerging market peers. Nevertheless, we believe India remains underweight in most portfolios and is not adequately represented in traditional benchmarks or strategies.

Investors may also be missing what we think are the most compelling opportunities in India–small and medium-sized companies. Smaller companies represent a more diverse, less efficient market with businesses tied to India’s domestic economy and growing middle-class.
